Eleventh Talk: Misplaced Fire
Anger flares up and you think it’s about them, or that, or this.
But trace it back—go all the way to the root—and what you’ll find isn’t injustice. It’s disappointment.
Something didn’t go the way you imagined. Someone didn’t act the way you hoped. The world didn’t line up with the blueprint in your head.
So of course you’re angry. But not because the world is wrong—because your map was off.
Anger is just frustration misfiled. The reaction you reach for when reality breaks the illusion of control.
So don’t fight it. But don’t feed it either. Instead, update the map. Redraw the lines.
Once your expectations match the terrain, the fire doesn’t have to burn you. It can light the way.
